I like to move it, move it...?

The first week of July the weight melted off by 5 pounds and here we are the second week and the scale hasn't budged. I have gained not have I lost. It's very frustrating to workout 6 days a week and eat healthy only for the scale to say, "screw you."  I will not give up. I will continue on my journey. 

On a completely unrelated note, we have begun looking for a new home. While I'd love a new, move in ready home again; it's just not in the budget. We've found a home we are interested in that's a good 30k less than our current home. It's larger, but it definitely needs a complete demo of all four bathrooms by just looking at the pictures online. We are going on Sunday after church to see it. I'm excited and scared.

One step in front of the other

This week has been amazing so far! I worked out Saturday, Sunday, Monday and today!! I've a lot of calories, but the scale hasn't moved yet. That's okay because I will keep trucking along!!  Here are some pictures from the past four days.

Amazing June!!!


I have found a love for Zumba within the last month.  It is so fun and fast-paced that it does not seem like exercise in any way.  I really am not coordinated, but I still have a blast each time that I go!  I also have a personal trainer who has been helping me build muscle tone and improve overall coordination.

I am in no way on target with exercise or food, but I am more controlled than in the past.  I do continue to still have some binges of food that I know are completely ridiculous.  I will get better and I will improve.

The first picture is from a 50s party in October 2009 when I was 392.50 and the left side is from two weeks ago. I can see a change in my face at least :)


June was a pretty awesome month so far. I did my 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th 5K. How awesome is that!?!


During all the 5k madness, my husband and I went to Daytona Beach FL for vacation. We had an absolute blast and want to go back ASAP!!


The very next weekend was a my favorite cousin's wedding and I got to see all my family that I haven't seen since my wedding over 5 years ago. 



That's my little update on my boring life. Hopefully July will be equally as awesome!

Hope in Motion

Today a good friend of mine came to Evansville and did a color run 5k with me. We had a blast and were so colorful when it all ended. This 5k was especially important because it benefitted Hope in motion, which is a non-profit organization people who have infertility issues by providing them with financial support.

Mental block

I have been in such a mental funk the past few months. I just don't know how to get myself out of it anymore. I have had no motivation to eat healthy or to lose weight. Here's a small run-down of what's been going on.

1. I got braces on my teeth on 2/13/13 after years of my dentist pushing me to go.
2. Work became really bad (i.e crazy boss) so I turned in my 4 week notice on a Wednesday afternoon last month and they fired me the next day! No, I didn't have another job lined up, but we had enough savings to be okay for like 3 months.
3. I had an interview set up for the day following my firing and they offered me the job by the following Tuesday and I started my new job that Thursday without skipping any paychecks.
4. My new job is 8-4, m-f, with no on-call. This job is a mere 40 minutes from home compared to my 1.5 hour one-way commute with my previous job. Plus the job was a 12k jump in pay.
5. I bought a new car, a 4 door Honda Civic at only $190 a month for 3 years!

That's been the extent of my past few months. Starting this new job has been wonderful for me because I absolutely love what I am doing and the people. The job has allowed me to spend more time with my husband who I haven't done much with since 2008 because of my crazy work hours.

The braces are just a pain in my ass. They're cutting the hell out of my mouth and affect the way I eat, sleep and talk. It seems that as soon as I get comfortable with them, they tighten them and the whole cycle starts over again adjusting to them.

I am hoping once I get a little more settled into my job, I'll get back on track with eating and exercising--I just have to work on the metal aspect. I'm going to try to get back on track tomorrow, but I can't say it will not be a half-hearted attempt. I do have a 5k next weekend with a former work pal that scaring the crap out of me!! I also tried a diet bet through biggest loser Hannah and Olivia. Needless to say it was a flop because I was not mentally into it at the time. I may try another dietbet again, though.

Hopefully I'll be updating sooner than I was.

Craptastic!!

This week can be summed up to crappy. I didn't get on the weight loss journey until yesterday and i will not allow myself any excuses. I have eaten well Saturday and so far today.

                                

 I still believe that this year will be MY YEAR. I will get control of my eating, weight, finances, and life in general.

We went to our new gym for the first time last night and I was very intimidated, but I went. I really miss my old gym and the people who go there, but i am hoping I will be able to adjust to Elite. Dwaine's sick with the stomach bug, but I am planning to go to the gym this afternoon.

I have everything planned and prepared for this week, so it should be a fabulous week!

2013!!!!

Dwaine and I had a very low key, We decided to stay home to make movies and the ball drop from the comfort of our couch. Can I say we LOVE Pitch Perfect...we've watched it four times.  We are both very optimistic about this new year and hope it's the best one yet.

We got a little goofy after midnight and had fun with my ipad, and no, no alcohol was involved.


Now comes the time of the year to make the resolutions that I promise myself that I will not make, but yet every year, I do. This year is no different. Here are the resolutions I have made for myself:



I hope this is the year that I actually change my life. I am so tired of my life being so boring and predictable. I want to be healthier so that I will live a long life and be able to have children one day.
